Energy & Infrastructure

Whether you're hoping to break ground on a new development project, expand your facilities in New York State, retrofit your fleet, or introduce a new energy platform, navigating the legal, legislative, and regulatory worlds of energy and infrastructure can be challenging.

Here's how we can help:

At Gotham, our attorneys, government specialists, and regulatory experts routinely advise energy companies, technologists, and providers, as well as real estate developers, construction companies, and subcontractors, on a wide variety of concerns as they pertain to economic development, green energy incentives, adaptive land use, manufacturing, and job creation. We represent major developers and construction companies in all business areas, including proposals, planning, government outreach, and private capital. Working with our legal firm, Gotham brings together integrated, multidisciplinary teams to advise project developers, investors, and industry participants on the legal issues surrounding renewable energy.

We are proud to offer clients the expertise of team members who have run City and State agencies and served on key committees in Congress. Their experience includes negotiating the disposition of public properties (formerly owned by NYS DOT or the NY/NJ Port Authority and DCAS and HPD), facilitating state-of-the-art Leed compliant construction and business expansion, securing favorable energy rates under the City's Business Incentive Rate (BIR), and working with NYS' Empire State Development Corporation to ensure tax-based incentives and growth support in furtherance of clean green energy. Previously, our team members advised on acquiring one of North America's most extensive, most advanced biodiesel production facilities, provided a due diligence review of innumerable energy-related startups and energy acquisition targets, and lobbied for various fossil fuel reduction issues related to NYC buildings. About bidding, we are fluent in competitive bidding proposals. Our team members have also actively participated in the selection process and understood the criteria to be distinguished as a winning submission.

As we rapidly move away from fossil fuel in favor of green and renewable energy, Gotham is eager to continue successfully navigating clients through the labyrinth of requirements, incentives, and regulations unfolding on both the State and federal levels. Regardless of the project or plan, we are committed to providing you with the tools to secure every strategic advantage possible.
